Multiculturalism

In a multicultural environment such as the United States it is vital that ministers of the Church be able to communicate in more than one language.  Our students will certainly be especially equipped to attend pastorally to Hispanic migrants who need priests who can talk to them in their own language and who are well familiar with their culture.  But they will also be adequately prepared to attend to English-speaking communities, that is why at the Seminario Hispano we offer our students a bilingual training.

English Courses

An integral part of the training offered by Seminario Hispano is learning the English language.  To this end, all our seminarians attend English courses that fit their level of expertise.  Classes are given at the Seminary’s facilities.  Moreover, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, we celebrate the liturgical acts in English.

Spanish and Cultural Immersion Studies

Given the growing need to pastorally cater to Hispanic communities, at Seminario Hispano we also train American and other non-Spanish speaking students who do not master the Spanish language and need to understand latin-american culture. Through regular courses, they follow a program which includes Spanish as a second language and pastoral practice, everything adapted to their needs.
